history: Born into status, Angelique knew what was expected of her the majority of her life. She was expected to act as a proper lady, and for the most part, she does, but when people don't look she acts a little more adventurously. She grew up as the daughter of Roanth's Marquies and his wife, raised as a lady, though some things never seemed to completely set in. She learned the things the lead lady of her future household would need to know. She caught on quickly in her teachings, which made her mother happy.
Since she was about fifteen, she'd been a lady of the court, her mother setting her up with man after man. There was one man who took an interest in her. Markus. Markus charmed her and swept her off her feet with that charm It was his her down fall automatically. He had managed to capture her feet. Her parents had agreed to give her hand to Markus, and Angelique had been ecstatic. Everything didn't turn out too well though. Just a few weeks before the wedding, she found him in bed with an older woman than her. A more experienced woman who knew what she was doing. Angelique had called off the wedding. She had to fight her parents nail and tooth, but she would not marry a man who only wanted her for the political relations it would create. She was heartbroken, her heart hardened a little towards men like him.
Ever since then no man has been able to woo the beautiful marquiess though. None of them interested her. Not to mention, more than half of them were probably just after her dowry and status instead of love. No, she would know when she met the correct man in court. She would not set herself up for more heartbreak like she had with Markus.
As of recently, her mother has been set on finding her daughter a husband again, much to Angelique's dismay. Angelique is perfectly content with her life. She likes being a single woman She could live happily on her own, but then again... she did want a family. She wanted children, and she knew her mother wanted grandchildren as well. She's not sure if she wants to cooperate like she did with Markus though. It had ended with heartache on her end. Markus ran off with the woman he'd been sleeping with during his and Angelique's engagement. As far as she knew, they married and the whore of a woman was giving him children.
Little does she know that the heavens have something else in stor for her.
