count ROURKE
THEOPHILUS is a very ambitious woman who is smart enough to out trick a fox. She can hold a seemingly emotionless mask, but under the surface is a little girl wanting to be loved. Her father has sent her to her distant aunt and uncle, the Count and Countess, to be taught to be a 'lady', but she wants nothing of it. She'd much rather be back home with her horses, and still being ignored by her father.
When Countess DROSOUS first meets the wily young lady she knows her work is cut out for her, but if she could just get the young woman a husband her job would be done. That is where the dangerous Count ROURKE comes in.
His parents were killed in a terrible fire when he was four, causing him to inherit the estate and all it's fortunes as a child. He closed up his heart, and it is now a practiced skill, a habit. He is ruthless but still fair. ROURKE respects the high king as much as he can, but he isn't blindfolded and led easily into the dark years of rage and violence.
When ROURKE meets Viscountess THEOPHILUS, he doesn't know what he is getting himself into. She is a little spit fire, totally out of control. He doesn't know whether to abandon her or kiss her till she shut up long enough for him to tell her to calm down. Both are hot headed, him not as much, her a whole lot. He leaves her to her etiquette lessons while he goes off outside to do the... 'manly things' men of his status do, but when night falls the two are pushed together. Countess DROSOUS is set on seeing these two married off.
Will love find these two dangerous and daring people, or will their hot hotheadedness cause them to fall apart? And if they do develop feelings, will they ever actually admit to them?- THEOPHILUS goes to aunt and uncle's.
- They push ROURKE toward the wild girl in hopes of marriage.
