Marquess KOVDES plays the audience, knowing things before others do, knowing the true stories and knowing, even though he's 53, his time on earth is shorting quicker than he thought. Determined to do something right before he leaves, he wants to protect his young daughter from her unlikely match.
Marquise KOVDES, has a different plan. She has never felt so sure in her life. She feels her role is to match make the unlikely couple, her daughter and RONNAT, as wily as they may be. She knows if the two would stop hiding their hearts and really talk they'd find they love in each other, plus, she wants to see her grandchildren.
RONNAT is a cold person with a cold apatite, or so it seems when Marquise KOVDES tries to figure him out. But innocent flirting can't stay innocent for ever. RONNAT is hiding something, nothing big or very dangerous, but all the same hidden. When the curiosity ebbs the best of KOVDES into asking she regrets it. RONNAT isn't just a cold, young archer, he's dangerous.
In order to fess up to the fact that he might enjoy the young woman's company he lies, telling her several unsavory comments. Only to be surprised that now he hates himself more than her. But when fate pushes them together when they've been betrothed things get complicated and he can no longer resist her, or stay in his cone of anger.- RONNAT and KOVDES meet.
